This bronze statue is a one of a kind sculpture, hand cast by the artists of south India using the lost wax method.

About Lord Venkateswara:  Lord Venkateswara, popularly known as Balaji, is the presiding deity of the Tirumala Hills, in Andhra Pradesh, India.  He is one of the manifestations of Lord Vishnu, who incarnated in a previous Kali-yuga at the request of sage Narada.  The sage requested Lord Vishnu to settle in Tirumala, to shower his eternal grace on mankind, who were very much depressed and unable to follow the rigorous yoga practices of self realization.  Tirumala, the seat of Lord Venkateswara is surrounded by seven hills, thus He is known as Lord of the seven hills.

Venkateswara has a dark complexion and four hands.  In his two upper hands he holds a discus (a symbol of power) and a conch shell (a symbol of existence).  With his lower hands extended downward he asks devotees to have faith and surrender to him for protection.

About the Golden Polish:  This bronze sculpture has been polished after casting giving it a golden shine.  Polished bronze pieces are often used in temples.  Temples prefer the polished bronze icons because the rituals involved in puja often involve bathing the bronze deity, which naturally removes the bronze patina of an older piece.  Over time and with no periodic care the golden polish will naturally dull to form a dark patina that is naturally found on aged bronze.

Shipping is automatically calculated by UPS for shipping within the US and Canada.  Each piece is usually shipped within 24 hours of the order with the exception of the weekend.   If you are in Canada please select "UPS Standard to Canada" for the shipping option.  If you are an international customer please select "TNT International Shipping" during checkout.  The shipping will come out as $0 and will be added to your order.  Please call 203-629-0902 or email us info@lotussculpture.com for a shipping quote.
