Special Features:  A smooth, refined sculpture.  For a smaller sculpture the details are impeccable.  Each figure has his own distinct features and character.  In the center of the piece there are the two figures of Shiva and Parvati with Shiva gently teasing Parvati as she looks adoringly into his eyes.  Flanking them both are their two sons Ganesh, right, and Kartikeya, left.  At the base of the piece is a devotee with hands clasp looking up to the couple.  At both Shiva's and Parvati's feet lay their vehicles, Nandi and the lion.

The arch is a wonder unto itself.  There is much more work done on the arch than is typically given to the arch as you can see by the three layers of designs within the arch.  Atop the arch is the looming specter of time, Mahakala a testament that all things are susceptible to the affects of time.  The arch is attached to the piece by two rods that fit into the back of the piece.  Sadly, a small piece of the tip of the rod has broken off in shipping.  It is barely visible and in no way compromises the arch or rod in any way.  There is an inscription on the back which we do not know the translation and will try to discover on our next trip. 

Care:  The piece can be used both indoors and outdoors.  Dust the piece regularly.  If you would like the piece to shine use a cotton cloth with some coconut oil or other natural oil to wipe down the statue.
