Bronze Hoysala Style Saraswati Playing Veena with Swan 15"

This hand made, bronze sculpture is a one-of-a-kind statue, hand cast by the artists of south India.

For a figure of this small size Saraswati is perfect.  Her proportions are excellent and her face is beautiful.  Details abound!  She dances while playing the veena.  She holds prayer malas as well as a copy of the Vedas.  Beside her is her herald; a peacock which is a symbol of the arts.  The beautiful lotus pedaled base and spiraling arch make the piece a joy to behold!

Saraswati was cast in the Hoysala style originated in Halebid, India.  The style is very ornate as you can plainly see from the abundance of jewelry and other ornaments that cover the entire piece as well as the spiraling vines that swirl in and out of each other in the arch of the piece.  The piece has a beautiful green patina.

Care:  The piece can be used both indoors and outdoors.  Dust the piece regularly.  If you would like the piece to shine use a cotton cloth with some coconut oil or other natural oil to wipe down the statue.
