This hand made, bronze sculpture is a one-of-a-kind statue, hand cast by the artists of south India.

Special Features: Parvati is tall and lean showing her to be the perfect match for a wife to Shiva, the ultimate renunciate and yoga master.  Her face is perfectly lean and gorgeous!

The bronze has a very sought after, rich copper color.  Along the sides of the base are two, vertical poles.  The poles are used by the faithful in India to strap two bamboo poles to the bronze Parvati sculpture and carry her around in procession before the goddess is placed into the inner sanctum of the temple.  Hindus believe that the actual god lies within all statues of the god.  Only by physically seeing the god is a Hindu able to experience the god.  Therefore the gods are often carried around the temple for all people to see and experience in the presence of the god.

Parvati is Lord Shiva's consort and wife.  In homes and temples throughout south India statues of Lord Shiva are almost always accompanied by a statue of Parvati.  Lord Shiva as Nataraja usually has Parvati in the standing posture beside him as he performs his dance of creation and destruction.

Care:  The piece can be used both indoors and outdoors.  Dust the piece regularly.  If you would like the piece to shine use a cotton cloth with some coconut oil or other natural oil to wipe down the statue.
