This wood sculpture is hand carved by the artists of Northern Thailand.

Special Features:  The Buddha is seated in the earth touching gesture asking the earth to witness his enlightenment.  The piece is entirely hand carved.  The details around the robes are staggering.  There are swirling tendrils that weave in and out of each other.  The designs are complimented by layer of gold leaf as well as many small mirrors. 

This wood carving is entirely hand-crafted and painted by the rural villages of northern Thailand.  They use the ancient Lanna techniques, that have been handed down from generation to generation, since the early days of the Kingdom of Lanna to create this item.  Every piece is therefore, truly unique in its own accord, design and carving.

Care:  Dust the piece as needed.  You can use a wood cleaner to really make it shine.  Mainly for indoor use.
