For both outdoor and indoor use.

Special Features:   A resplendent Gold colored Buddha sculpture.  The polished gold color if left outdoors or is allowed to sit for a long time indoors without any care will naturally change color to a dull/antique brass color.  This color can be quickly brought back simply by polishing the brass.  Utong is a town near Ayuthaya in Thailand and is also associated with a period in Thai history between the 13th and 15th centuries.

His face has a hint of a smile as his left hand rests facing upwards in his lap and his right hand is held out in the Vitarka mudra.  The base does not sit flush on the ground but there are three legs that make contact with the ground.  Two in the front and one on the back side.

About the Bhumisparsha Mudra; Earth Touching, Calling the Earth to Witness, or The Victory Over (Subduing) Mara:  Literally Bhumisparsha translates into 'touching the earth'. It is more commonly known as the 'earth witness' mudra. This mudra, formed with all five fingers of the right hand extended to touch the ground, symbolizes the Buddha's enlightenment under the bodhi tree, when he summoned the earth goddess, Sthavara, to bear witness to his attainment of enlightenment. The right hand, placed upon the right knee in earth-pressing mudra, and complemented by the left hand-which is held flat in the lap in the dhyana mudra of meditation, symbolizes the union of method and wisdom, samasara and nirvana, and also the realizations of the conventional and ultimate truths. It is in this posture that Shakyamuni overcame the obstructions of Mara while meditating on Truth.
