This wood sculpture is a one of a kind statue, hand carved by the artists of south India.
Special Features: The raised trunk of an elephant has always been a sign of good luck. The elephant is carved with wonderful detail. The face and the eyes have life within them. Even the ears look as if they are moving with the breeze. The two juvenile tusks are perfectly sized making them both cute and non threatening.
The rug on its back looks like a finely woven Persian rug. The details are carved with a rough cut giving the rug a lighter gray coloring. This contrasts to the darker, polished, smooth skin of the elephant.
There is a mark on the side of the head where the artist filled a hole in with rubber.
Care: Dust the piece as needed. You can use a wood cleaner to really make it shine. Mainly for indoor use.
