This wood sculpture is hand carved by the artists of Northern Thailand.

Special Features:  The facial features of the Sukhothai Buddha reflect the Thai concept of an ideal being and reveal an inner spirit.  The long, oval face is framed by earlobes that turn outwards slightly at the base.  The downcast eyes and gentle smile exude a tranquil expression.  The eyebrows form arches over the eyes in an unbroken line.

The gold coloring of the Buddhas robes is made from 100% gold leaf.  It is not painted gold.  The piece is fully carved and can be viewed from any angle. 

This quality product is entirely Hand-crafted and painted by the rural villages of northern Thailand.  They use the ancient Lanna techniques, that have been handed down from generation to generation, since the early days of the Kingdom of Lanna to create this item.  Every piece is therefore , truly unique in its own accord, design and carving.

Care:  Dust the piece as needed.  Mainly for indoor use.
