The white marble statue is a one of a kind sculpture, hand carved by the artists of Rajisthan, India.
The right side of the Halo was cleanly broken off the piece. It has been professionally re-attached.
Special Features: Ganesh is seated on a lotus base with his right hand in the abhaya mudra. In his other 3 hands he holds a pile of rice, a conch and a discus. The conch and discus are generally symbols associated with Vishnu. The conch represents "Om", the first sound of creation and also the beginning of matter, since sound and matter are consider to be synonymous. The discus is thought to represent the sun. To Ganesh's right is a small rat. Since rats are seen as being capable of gnawing their way through most things, the rat symbolizes Ganesh's ability to destroy every obstacle.
