The black  marble statue is a one of a kind sculpture, hand carved by the artists of Rajisthan, India.

Special Features:  Ganesh is seated in the Abhaya mudra hand position otherwise known as the "fear not" hand position as His palm is completely open.  His other three hands hold a bowl of sweets, a conch and an elephant goad.  Goads (or elephant prods) are typically used to direct elephants.   Goads are symbolic of how one should steer the soul away from the ignorance and illusions of this earthly world just as a mahout would steer an elephant away from any treacherous path.  The conch represents "Om", the first sound of creation and also the beginning of matter, since sound and matter are consider to be synonymous.  There is a small rat at the foot of Ganesh who is enjoying some of Ganesh's sweets.

Care:  The piece is for indoor use only.  Dust the piece as needed using a cotton piece of cloth.
