This hand made, bronze sculpture is a one-of-a-kind statue, hand cast by the artists of south India.

Special Features:  The beautiful, life size Lakshmi stands holding two lotus flowers, a symbol of beauty, prosperity and fertility,  with her other two hands in the abhaya mudra showing her devotees that have nothing to fear from the goddess of wealth.  She is beautiful!  Her lips has a slight sublime smile.  Her breasts are covered which give her a motherly, modest appearance.  Her lavish head dress, jewelry and leggings are all finely carved fitting for the goddess of wealth.  Her hands are soft and comforting each with a lotus carving on the palm.

There are two holes in the finely carved base.  The holes are used to fit long poles through the base.  The poles are then fastened to the bronze statue holding the murti in place.  Devotees then pick up the the murti by each end of the pole and parade Her through the streets so that devotees can "receive darshan".  Darshan is when a person beholds the divine.  "By doing darshan properly a devotee develops affection for God, and God develops affection for that devotee."

Care:  The piece can be used both indoors and outdoors.  Dust the piece regularly.  If you would like the piece to shine use a cotton cloth with some coconut oil or other natural oil to wipe down the statue.

Shipping is calculated from Greenwich, Connecticut after the purchase.  This piece is too heavy to ship via UPS ground and will be shipped using a “white glove” service like ABF Shipping or UPS Freight.  Time is needed to pack the piece in a crate.  Each piece is usually shipped within 3 working days.  If you place your order online shipping will show in the order as $0.
