Saraswati the goddess of knowledge, who is praised by the wise, who is the wife of the creator, may she reside on the tip of my tongue.

Special Features:  Saraswati, goddess of knowledge and the arts, embodies the wisdom of Devi.  Saraswati is dancing on a double lotus base with four arms playing the veena.  In her other two arms she holds a copy of the vedas as well as prayer malas.  The four Vedas, books of universal knowledge, were her offspring.  There is a peacock at the heel of her left foot.  The peacock is a symbol of the arts.  She is surrounded by thick vegetation of the Indian jungle.  Within the canopy of swirling trees are three colorful canaries and two buds from the flower of a banana tree. 

The painting scheme is adopted from the bright colors used in south Indian temples.  The temples are known for their large gopurams or towers that rise up into the sky decorated with various gods and goddesses.  The gopurams are painted in vibrant colors which mirror the vibrant life of south India. 

Care:  Dust the piece as needed.  You can use a wood cleaner to really make it shine.  Mainly for indoor use.
