This wood sculpture is a one of a kind statue, hand carved by the artists of south India.
Special Features: Ganesh holds in his hands, a noose, an axe, his broken tusk that he used to write the Mahabharata epic and a ball of sweets. Ganesh's vehicle; a rat is on the base looking up to Ganesh in awe. The rat, although small has some fine details.
The rat nibbles on a small offering received from Ganesh. The painting scheme is adopted from the bright colors used in south Indian temples. The temples are known for their large gopurams or towers that rise up into the sky decorated with various gods and goddesses. The gopurams are painted in vibrant colors which mirror the vibrant life of south India.Care: Dust the piece as needed. You can use a wood cleaner to really make it shine. Mainly for indoor use.
