"I
have a growing collection of wonderful statues from Lotus Sculpture.
I return again and again because of the quality, and the
affordability, but most of all because of what I can only call the
spirit of each piece. The owner, Kyle, has exquisite taste and by
buying a piece from him I know I am supporting artists that love
what they do, and the love shows in what they make. So all I can say
is, I love Lotus Sculpture!"

This wood sculpture is a one of a kind statue, hand carved by the artists of south India.
Special Features: The Buddha, whose original name was Siddhartha Gautama, was the founder of Buddhism, the religion and the philosophical system that produced a great culture throughout much of southern and eastern Asia. Buddha, meaning "awakened one" or "enlightened one" is a title not a name. In Hindu Dogma, the Buddha is viewed as being the 9th avatar of the Hindu god Vishnu. This sculpture features a halo on the head, which symbolizes the Buddha's radiant spiritual energy. The face is oval with curved eyebrows, a long, hooked nose and a smiling expression, with the head being topped by small hair curls. His right hand is
up in the Vitarka Mudra position.About the Vitarka Mudra; Intellectual Argument, Debate, Appeasement: The gesture of discussion and debate indicates communication and an explanation of the Dharma. The tips of the thumb and index finger touch, forming a circle. All other fingers are extended upwards. Sometimes the middle finger and thumb touch, which is gesture of great compassion. If the thumb and ring finger touch, they express the mudra of good fortune.
Care: Dust the piece as needed. You can use a wood cleaner to really make it shine. Mainly for indoor use.
